Planting Garlic


Taking advantage of these unusually warm October days, our WWOOFers, Ambrosia (from Columbia, Missouri) and Nina (from Zurich, Switzerland) plant hundreds of garlic cloves which we will harvest next year.








After a busy day all return home...




You know for certain Autumn has arrived when the leaf dumpers arrive and piles of leaves start piling up.

A Standard Peavey


How might one move pieces of the trunk of a century old sugar maple?  The standard Peavey fits the bill for some.

According to the Peavey Manufacturing Company  (http://peaveymfg.com/), Joseph Peavey invented the original logging tool in 1857 in Maine, where it is still made today. This Peavey, decades old, still serves remarkably well in the right hands, such as Kingsley's.

Summer Surprises


Foxglove has always been the calendar for announcing summer.  Being a biennial, the surprise comes in guessing where we will see it growing from year to year.   Foxglove can grow in the pastures where the sheep graze, as they would never eat this poisonous beauty.
