Hubbard squash

“Nobody grows hubbard squash anymore, because the only ones who know what to do with it are in cemeteries.”

This was said to us by an old New England farmer.

We recently proved this farmer correct.  Our CSA members were given a choice of 3 winter squash and few choose Hubbard.  But in my opinion it is even better than butternut or acorn squash and you can make breads, pies and eat it plain as a side dish.

Barberry Hill Farm Wedding Amy and Daniel

Amy and Daniel came all the way from California to be married here - we were very honored.  There was definitely magic in the air that day.

A Walk Through Our Barn

Many CSA members don't make it up to the barn.  For those who are curious as to what is inside, here is a look!
