Our New Arrivals

Yesterday we received 75 meat chicks. These will join our farm fowl that now include turkeys, laying hens, ducks, and quail.  They will be ready for eating in about eight weeks. I will be taking orders in a few weeks.

They will be pasture raised, and free of hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics

Braiding Onions

Hanging on the Wall

Fresh onions can make a meal.  I saute them or use them raw and would not make many meals without them.  It is the most common herb in the kitchen here in America and nutritious too.

A great way to store onions, or garlic, is to braid them and hang within easy reach  in your kitchen.  This time-honored technique not only keeps onions fresher longer, but it also saves time and space and is lovely to look at.

An Age-Old Skill

We will be offering braided onions shortly, both at the various farmers markets and our farm stand.

They store best in a cool, dry place.
